An unsigned ticket is an assertion. A signed ticket is an agreement. Signed the same day, on site, by the person who directed the work — that’s the whole game.

Get it signed

1

Finish the ticket on the spot

Labor, material, description, photos. Don’t hand somebody a half-filled ticket to sign.
2

Hand them your phone

They sign with a finger, on the ticket, in DirtView.
3

Check the photos are attached

Before-condition photos with the ticket, not in your camera roll.
4

Submit it

Now the office has it, today.

If they won’t sign

It happens. Don’t let it stop the record:
  • Submit the ticket anyway, unsigned.
  • Note who you asked and when, in the description.
  • Tell your PM the same day.
An unsigned ticket with a contemporaneous note about who declined to sign is far better than no ticket.
