The three numbers
Submittal number
Identifies the item — usually tied to the spec section. It doesn’t change.
Version
Which iteration of that item you sent.
Revision
The resubmission count after a rejection or a “revise and resubmit.”

Pick the spec section
From your published spec book. If the list is empty, the book isn’t published. → Uploaded vs. Published

Accept or override the suggested number
DirtView suggests the next number. Override it if your GC or the owner requires their own numbering — but then be consistent for the whole job.

Attach the package
Product data, shop drawings, samples documentation — whatever the section requires.

Which iteration the list shows
The submittal log shows one row per item — the current iteration, not every version you ever sent. To see the earlier ones, open the submittal and look at its versions.Next
