Why a submittal has a spec section

The section is what ties the thing you’re submitting to the requirement it has to meet. It’s how a reviewer knows what to check the submittal against, and it’s how you build a submittal register that covers the whole book instead of whatever people remembered. → Creating a submittal

Adding a section that isn’t in the book

It happens — a section got missed in indexing, or the work is covered by an addendum.
If a section is missing across the board, don’t add them one at a time. Re-check that the right version of the book was uploaded and published.
